JOB Ready Program

What is a job ready program?

Trade recognition Australia abbreviated as TRA runs a program called a TRA job ready program that helps to check the capabilities and skill of an international student in an Australian workspace. It’s a skill assessment program for those international students who have completed their degree and want to work in Australia.

The job ready program visa also helps one in applying for permanent skilled visas. Also, this program helps one to gain experience in working a real Australian workplace related to his or her occupation.

Program objective

The Job Ready Program (JRP) is for international student graduates who have studied at and received a completed qualification issued by a Registered Training Organization (RTO). The RTO must be registered under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) to deliver the training.

It is a four‐step employment‐based skills assessment program that provides applicants with the opportunity to demonstrate skills and job readiness in an Australian workplace, relevant to a nominated occupation, before applying for migration in Australia.

The JRP aims to ensure that a skilled worker is well placed to seek employment in their nominated occupation in Australia.

1.   Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA)
2. Job Ready Employment (JRE)
3. Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA)
4. Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA)

Eligibility

it is imperative that applicants under this program have been the primary visa holder of a Student Visa and have at least 12 months of full work rights available to them to be able to complete the program. This means that if an applicant has previously held a Graduate Visa, they may face difficulties gaining full work rights to be able to complete the program. At Regional Migration Australia we can determine the best long-term strategy for you to achieve your desired Australian Migration Outcome.

How does the program work?

The JRP is a four-step process that takes a minimum of 12 months to complete. Applicants must have at least 12 months of full work rights available to them. Usually after graduating with qualifications at Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level student visa holders will utilize this program while moving onto a Graduate Visa. While on the JRP applicants are required to complete 1725 hours of work along with a workplace assessment to confirm they are conducting the required tasks of someone in their occupation.

Four steps of the job ready program

➤ Step 1:  is called the Provisional Skills Assessment and is often used to meet the requirements of a Graduate Visa (subclass 485) under the Graduate Work Stream. The requirements to pass through this step include having recognized Australian qualifications and having completed 360 hours of work experience; either as a vocational placement or paid work.

If your PSA outcome application has been done before1 July 2022, your PSA application procedure will be uninterrupted, and you can expect to receive the PSA outcome by the scheduled time.

If your PSA outcome has already been received before 1 July 2022, the further process through the Job Ready Program will remain unaffected affected.

➤ Step 2: is called Job Ready Employment and is where an initial assessment of current work (and up to 3 months of prior completed paid work) is assessed. If this work is found to be at the appropriate skill level and occupation the hours from this employer will start to be counted towards the overall hours required. To meet the overall hour requirements hours can be counted from more than one employer.

➤ Step 3: is the Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA) and involves an assessor visiting the primary place of work to confirm that the work undertaken is at the level required of the occupation being assessed.

From July 1st 2022 onwards, the fresh applications for JRP Australia will be received and processed for the latest three step procedure of the JRP Australia. This will be done by choosing the Program Registration as well as the Eligibility alternative of the current JRP.
